DR NIMITA MANOCHA.
Dr Nimita Manocha is a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry carrying 24 years of rich experience in the field of Pharmacy,comprising of17 years in Teaching and 7 years in Pharm Industry. She graduated in B.pharm from Dr H.S Gour Univ. Sagarfollowed by M.Pharm from SGSITS Indoreand PhD from SGVU Jaipur. She has guided many M. Pharm students in their research work and published a number of research articles in International and National reputed journals. She has attended and organized many National seminars and workshops. With a background of Industrial experience, she emphasizesonIndustrial application based teaching and training.
DEPARTMENT PROFILE
The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry was established in the year 2009. Currently, it has a team of 11 faculties in the Ph. Chem department. The curriculum in B. Pharm and M. Pharm includes theory and practical subjects like Pharmaceutical Organic & Inorganic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharm. Analysis and QA. Under the able guidance of the faculties, M. Pharm students are actively engaged in research work and publish their researchpapers in reputed journals. The major research areas include-: Synthesis of new chemical entities and evaluating the biological activity for the treatment of various diseases; Development& Validation of Analytical Method; Semi Synthesis of bioactive compounds; The department has 3 laboratories and a state of the art Instrument room equipped with sophisticated instruments like HPLC, FT-IR, UV-Visible spectrophotometer, Karl Fischer; Rota vapour; Flame Photometer.
